What You Can Do with Video Transcriber

Whether it is a voice memo on your phone, an hour-long meeting recording, or a video you saved on your computer, Video Transcriber turns your audio and video into searchable text in minutes. Upload MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPGA, M4A, WAV, or WEBM from your device.

Meeting & call recordings

Turn Zoom, Teams, or phone exports into searchable notes. Timestamped sentences help you find decisions and action items without replaying the entire call.

Interviews

Transcribe interview audio to text with timestamps. Quote sources accurately and jump back to the exact moment in the player instead of scrubbing through the whole recording.

Podcasts

Convert podcast audio to text for show notes, blog posts, and quotable snippets. A full transcript makes every episode easier to search and repurpose.

Voice memos

Dictate on the go, upload M4A or MP3 from your phone, and get readable text you can edit in the browser, then export as TXT or SRT.

Lectures & online courses

Turn class recordings and webinar exports into study notes. Click any line to replay that section while you review slides or cite material.

Saved video & audio files

Frequently Asked Questions

How Video Transcriber handles files, billing, and exports.

What is Video Transcriber?
Video Transcriber is an online workspace that turns your own audio and video files into accurate, timestamped text. Upload from your device, review in the browser, and export when you are done.
How do I convert audio or video to text online?
Sign in, upload MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPGA, M4A, WAV, or WEBM, confirm the duration and credit cost, choose auto-detect or a language, then click Transcribe. Your file stays on the same page while it processes.
Is it free to convert audio and video to text?
Yes. New accounts receive 20 free minutes to try the workspace. No card is required. Paid plans add more monthly minutes when you outgrow the starter balance.
Can I paste a YouTube or video link?
Not today. Video Transcriber works with files you upload from your device—MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPGA, M4A, WAV, or WEBM. Download or export the recording first, then drag it into the workspace.
Which audio and video formats do you support?
Supported formats: MP3, MP4, MPEG, MPGA, M4A, WAV, or WEBM. The file must include a readable duration or the upload is rejected. Clear speech and minimal background noise give the best results.
How accurate is the transcription?
Accuracy depends on audio quality, accents, and background noise. Clear speech in a quiet room performs best. You can review and click any sentence to hear the source before you export.
Is there a limit on file length?
Long recordings are supported as long as the file uploads successfully and your account has enough credits. Duration is shown before you transcribe, and billing is one credit per minute rounded up.
Can I transcribe multiple files?
Yes. Upload and transcribe files one at a time from the workspace list. Each job keeps its own transcript and export—there is no batch queue yet.
Can I export my transcript?
Open the transcript, click any sentence to seek the player, show or hide timestamps, and export TXT or SRT. Sharing links, renaming files, and folders are not available today.
Which languages are supported?
99 spoken languages are supported, including English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and more. Use auto-detect or choose a language before you start. See the Supported Languages section on this page for the full list.
How are transcription minutes billed?
One credit equals one billed minute, rounded up. A 30-second file costs 1 credit. A 30-minute, 1-second file costs 31 credits. Credits are refunded only if the job fails.
How fast will my transcript be ready?
Most files finish in a few minutes after you start transcribing. Very long uploads may take longer depending on file size and server load. You can stay on the page while the job runs.
How is my audio handled?
Files are processed to produce your transcript and stored so you can return to them while signed in. Do not upload content you are not allowed to share. For account deletion or data questions, contact support through the site.
